Unsure of what makes a good Mento employee candidate? Here are some of the criteria we evaluate our candidates on:

- Collaborative and trust-building
- Curious, growth-oriented, and adaptable
A great candidate is genuinely energized by helping people do their best work and build meaningful careers. They care about why the company exists, not just the role, and they’re motivated by impact as much as outcomes.
Because we are a fully remote company, strong candidates are people who manage themselves well. They take ownership, communicate clearly, and follow through without needing micromanagement.
Success at Mento requires someone who thrives in highly collaborative environments—who values trust, psychological safety, and mutual respect. They contribute ideas openly, invite feedback, and are actively part of our culture-building as a team.
As an early-stage company crafting novel solutions, ideal candidates are comfortable with ambiguity and change. They’re curious learners, excited to experiment, and adaptable as the product, team, and business evolve.

How to Refer
Submit one Mento Employee Referral form for each candidate using your Mento email. We will ask you to provide more information about this person’s history, experience and why you think they would make a great Mento employee
- Work experience - LinkedIn profile link and optional resume if available
- How do you know this person? Why are you recommending them?
The Hiring Manager for each role will evaluate the candidate and determine whether they are a good fit or not based on current business needs.
No matter the outcome, we will communicate the status of your candidate referral. We appreciate your patience as the timelines for each role will vary.
If you successfully refer an employee (they receive an offer, complete onboarding and are a Mento employee for 90 days), you’ll receive a $500 bonus for helping us grow our team!
