What is Mento?

Our cofounders Jamie and Alex started Mento in late 2019 on a mission to change workplace culture. They felt that HR and talent development systems were misaligned, antiquated, and had not evolved with our modern workforce. Employee activism has been on rise for the last decade (walkouts, career hopping, #metoo, unionizing, the Great Resignation, etc.) because professionals are feeling alone in their careers and do not have the coaching, technology, tools, and data they need to effectively navigate modern day work environments.

Mento aims to unlock our member’s full potential by connecting them to experts and operators in their field for 1:1 career coaching. All members are personally matched with a coach specialized to their role, seniority level, working style, and goals. With Mento, professionals don’t just have a career coach, they also have a partner who has functional expertise to guide them through their career because they themselves have ā€œbeen there, done that.ā€ Over time, we plan to go beyond coaching and mentorship and continue to build out components for what we believe can be an operating system for professionals’ careers.

Today, we support professionals working across the technology ecosystem both in the US and internationally. We are a VC-backed, fully-remote company that has built a cross functional community committed to their own personal development and that of those around them.
