Subject: Congrats on Retail Launch!

Hey Dana!

Hope you are doing well! I wanted to send you a quick note of congratulations Re: the soon to come launch into retail that just hit the news. I know it has been a long time coming. Please pass along my congratulations to the rest of the team!

Additionally – I wanted to make sure that you had my new contact information (see below). I will be up in the bay area in mid-October for a few meetings and if you are able, I would love to meet up for coffee again. I really valued the advice you have given me in the past and would like to continue the conversation as I kick off recruiting.

I will reach out again in a few weeks once I firm up my travel dates in hopes that we will be able to connect!

I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Jordan

Subject: Reconnecting and Congrats on the Raise

Hey Tyler,

It has been a long time! I wanted to reach back out and connect with you to see how things were going. Obviously, [XXX company] has been in the news quite a bit recently, which has been great to see (Congrats on the big Series A!).

As I mentioned when we last spoke, I really enjoyed my time working with you and the team at XXX. I will be up in the city next week and was hoping to reconnect. I know that your schedule is jam-packed, but if things settle back down I would love to find a time to grab coffee to catch up!

Regardless – I hope you and your family are staying healthy and you are enjoying your spring as best you can!

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Ethan

Example 3

Subject: Meeting/Coffee with Jordan

Hello David,

It has been a while since we last spoke, I hope you are doing well!

I am currently going through the process of deciding on the next steps I would like to take in my career. You have been very generous with your advice in the past and I was hoping to continue some of our past conversations.

If you are open to it, I would love to find time to meet with you to get your take on the various options I am weighing. Are you available at any point on Wednesday or Thursday of this week? I am able to make almost any time work (early coffee, lunch, post-work) as long as I know a day beforehand. If the short notice is an issue, let me know and we can try for next week instead.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Jordan Stern
