As mentioned in our interview process, we ask our coaches to commit meaningful time to Mento.
How long am I expected to coach for Mento? Your contract holds you to a minimum 12-18 month term as a Coach with Mento simply because meaningful coaching relationships take time to build and are meant to be long term! Most of our coaches, though, have been with us for now going on over two years, and we expect our coaches to be with us for years just as our members expect to stay with Mento. We look for coaches who want to make coaching a sustainable, rewarding, and fulfilling part of their lives. 😃 If, for whatever reason, you have concerns, challenges, etc — please bring them to us! We want to make Mento an amazing place for you all to coach. In the off chance that you cannot continue past your initial term, please give us 90 minimum days advance notice, so that we can create a safe and supportive transition process for your members.
How many hours a week am I expected to coach? We ask all of our coaches to have the capacity to support at least 6 members minimum. Sessions between members and coaches are 45 minutes every other week, but we encourage coaches to utilize and bill for the full hour for pre-session prep and jot down notes, any follow ups, etc afterward.
When do I meet with my members? It’s up to you and your member! You will set hours via our scheduling system, cal.mento.co, and your members will be able to book time with you that also works for them. In some cases, a member might ask if you have any availabilities not represented on your calendar (mostly due to calendaring and timezones). We do ask, however, that you be able to schedule consistent, recurring meetings (for example, every other Thursday at 3 PM). We find that if coaching sessions are not recurring, it will require a lot more admin on your and your members part, and we want to make coaching feel like a joyful, delightful part of BOTH of your days 😃. This starts with a predictable session cadence!
The end of my contract is coming up. What do I do?
You have two options here!
- Do nothing 😃 If you are thriving as a coach at Mento and want to keep coaching with your members on our platform, your contract will auto-renew for 12 months once the initial term is up. Easy peasy!
- If you decide to move on, please give us 90 days advance notice, as stated in your contract. This is crucial for us to ensure an smooth transition to a new coach for your members. This is really, really important to us. You will have established deep and meaningful relationships with your members, and it is a jarring experience to have your coach suddenly decide to leave. Have you ever had a therapist, coach, or another important person in your life suddenly decide to peace? It doesn’t feel great! Ample time gives us an opportunity to transition your members and also for you to wind down your relationships as well.
