What do I do to get paid?
Once youâve graduated Coaching 101 and become eligible to get matched for your first chemistry calls, youâll be ready to get set up your account on our payment provider. We use Wingspan to pay our coaches as 1099 contractors.
Wingspan requires you to provide information in order to complete a W-9 for US-based contractors or W-8 for international contractors. You will also need to select how youâd like to be paid.
In order to set up your Wingspan account you will need the following information:
- An invitation email from Mento Technologies Inc. to your personal email. Do not try to sign up without this invitation email.
- Full legal name
- Your business/LLC information if you wish to be paid as a business
- SSN or Foreign Tax Identifying Number (TIN)
- Payout method (if you select direct deposit, have your account and routing number handy!)
- Billing address
Hereâs a video tutorial on how you can set up your Wingspan account once youâve received an email invite from us! As we mentioned, do not try to sign up directly from their website but by using the link we send you instead.
Once youâve set up your account, youâll be able to submit invoices for the coaching sessions youâve completed!
We approve invoices every other week (twice monthly) as shown on the Mento Coach calendar. Be sure to submit your invoices in time in order to get paid on a biweekly cadence!
Step by Step Walkthrough - How to submit an invoice
- With Wingspan, you will use the Get Paid â Invoicing tab to submit your coaching hours for payment.
- Click Create Invoice in the upper right hand corner.
- For the Client company, click the drop down and select Mento and the appropriate client information and instructions will auto populate.
- Complete the Work summary section at the bottom of the page by clicking Add Item.
- Select what type of coaching session are billing for: Coaching Session, Chemistry Call, Executive Coaching Session, or No-Show.
- Bill $70 per Coaching session, $35 per Chemistry Call, and $140 per Executive Coaching Session.
- Repeat for the other items you are billing for by simply clicking Add Item again.
IMPORTANT: If you want to invoice after each session instead of at the end of the week or each pay period, you can easily start an invoice and click Save as draft and exit in order to come back to that invoice and add another coaching session.
- When youâve entered everything you want to invoice, click Next.
- Complete the notes section - do not skip this step or we will not be able to approve your invoice! Please provide the following information for each session for which you are billing: - Client Name - Session Type: Chemistry Call, Coaching Session, Exec session, No Show - Date of session
- We do not recommend changing the Send date or Due date as this often times causes more issues and confusion. Just go ahead and hit submit! Note: Even though Due says on receipt, Mento approves and pays invoices bi-weekly. We will not be paying invoices immediately upon receipt even though the invoice will say Overdue. Check out the When do I get paid? section below for more info!
- Click Send invoice!
- Keep an eye out for your payment the Wednesday following the Monday we process payments.
đĄMento invoicing best practice: - Create a single invoice for a pay period or once a week. Please do not submit one invoice per client. - Submit each coaching session you complete with a member as itâs own line item. Just click Add Item to add additional coaching sessions.
- Add your coaching hours by entering Member Name | session type | session date in the Notes section. - If you are entering hours as you go throughout the pay period (instead entering all the coaching sessions youâve completed before the invoice due date), when you have entered your coaching sessions, do not submit the invoice. Simply click Save as a draft and exit. You can always come back to that invoice to add more items it after your next session and before you hit submit every other Sunday!
- Submit by 12PM EST Sundays before payments are due in order to get paid on time.
If you would like to add hours to an unsent invoice, simply click the three vertical dots to the right-hand side and click Edit under Unsent on the Invoicing page

Some FAQs
When do I get paid?
Wingspan invoices are reviewed and approved every other Monday, so we have a calendar event set up in the Mento Coach Events calendar to remind you that Friday to submit your invoices.
When payments are processed on Mondays, the payment will hit your bank account that Wednesday.
How do I receive a bonus through Wingspan?
Performance Bonuses are paid via Wingspan as an off-cycle payment after Pulse Check is closed. We will process and send these off-cycle payments during the next pay period.
Member referral, coach referral, and business referral bonuses are paid out during the pay period immediately following the qualification date (typically 90 days).
These bonuses are paid on top of regular coaching hours and you will see the bonus appear in the âDescriptionâ line of the payment.
Please do not bill for your bonus. We will pay them out proactively.
