How does matching work?
Our goal in matching is to connect our members with the coach who is going to be a supportive and inspiring partner for them in their career. So how does matching work? Currently, our matching process is 100% manual.
- When a member signs up, they choose if they want to be matched over a call or email
- If the member selects a matching call, they will use a Calendar link directly in the sign up flow to schedule a matching call with Member Success. Member Success will do some prep going into the call and will, in real time, suggest 1-2 coaching options that may be a good fit for the member based on what they’ve shared in the call. Member success will then encourage them to book with the coach(es) while still on the call.
- If they select email, Member Success sends a few coaching options over email, asking for their thoughts on the suggested matches. Depending on how they reply, we will then match the member with the suggested coach(es).
- If the member wants options and is paired with two initial coach options, the member will complete Chemistry Calls with both coaches. Please see our Chemistry Call page for more info if a new member is matched with two coaches. If the member is not paired with two or more coaches, you’ll start off having an initial coaching session with them.
- Be sure to read Your First Member after you’ve been matched with someone for the first time!
- We will check in with you and the member after your first 1-on-1 to see how it went, if it was a good match, and if it was, to ensure you and the member are in recurring 1-on-1s (Bi-Weekly Coaching in cal.com). If the member was given two coaching options for Chemistry Calls, we will ask who they prefer to continue working with. Once the member chooses, we will remove the other coach from the member’s profile. Either way, we will do our best to provide feedback!
- Once a member is in a recurring 1-on-1 with a coach, the matching and onboarding process is complete.
